OnLine Information
place:
community schools in Zambia, primary schools in Netherlands
working space:
creative productions and the interactions surrounding will get a reserved space at www.kambisa.com; training to use online resources at the community schools in Zambia will also introduce the use of relatively effective social fora like facebook and youtube. Students will get some additional PR-training to help them select the online resources which best fit their personal objectives
Purpose of the project:
- to show children from Zambian community schools how to join the online debate, make their own online profile, upload and protect their own productions (pictures, music, videos, writings) and to distribute these online
- to create social interaction between children in Zambia and their age-mates in the Netherlands
- to educate children and youngsters about life abroad, and let them reflect on their own positions, possibilities and ambitions
method:
Kids in different schools in Zambia and the Netherlands will be given a similar creative assignment which reflects their look at life. For example, they can be asked to make a drawing of the house they would love to live in, including the people who would live there. The results of these creative processes will then be jointly exposed at www.kambisa.com, after kids will be asked to reflect at the differences and similarities between their own choices and those of others. The children will then be taught and encouraged to discuss the exhibition online, and to expose it in the wider online community.
